Manchester City 1989-90 Classic Shirt

Manchester City 1989-90 Classic shirt, a truly memorable shirt, the one used in City’s last promotion.

The team, led by English coach and former player, Melvin Machin, faced its first season back at English top Football division. The beginning of the season led the team into a spiral of bad results and football displayed. Only 3 months into the season, the manager got sacked and replaced by Howard Kendall. The team survived the second half of the season, and finishing 14th, managed to remain in the First Division, but most importantly, the laid a solid ground to build on for the future.

Despite the bad season, Manchester city enjoyed one of its greatest victories against rivals, Manchester United, 5-1. Ferguson described that game as “one of the most humiliating defeats of his career”.
