Juventus began its long history in Europe, by winning their first ever European championship a tragic night of 1984-85. Legendary team, led by stars Michel Platini, Boniek and Paolo Rossi, who would go on to beat Liverpool 1-0, Michel Platini scored the winning goal . However, that evening was marked as one of the most fatal tragedies in football, the Heysel Stadium Disaster, it was described as; “the darkest hour in the history of UEFA tournaments”. Despite this incident, Juventus began its long and successful run in European Tournaments.
