Vintage shirt Holland1974; the Dutch team aka The Clockwork Orange dazzled the world with their Total Football approach led their captain Johan Cruyff.

Dutch football in the 1970’s was admired by the world. Their use of total football, (tactical theory, were any player can take over the role of another one) allowed them to re-invent a new approach towards the sport. The Dutch National team, led by Johan Cruyff, was playing its first ever World Cup, since 1938. Beating tough teams Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay, the Dutch were able to make it into the final, were the terrifying West Germany squad, (2 years back they had won the European Championship) was awaiting. Despite an excellent start to the game, with Johan Neeskens goal, the West German team were able to get back into the game and finish the Dutch dream, with a goal from Gerd Muller.
