Having enjoyed great success throughout the 60’s, led by the incredible Luis Suarez. FC Barcelona entered the 70’s, looking for a star that would guide them to glory once more. The arrival of one Legendary player, Johan Cruyff, in 1973, for a world record fee, was the game changer that the Blaugranas were awaiting for.

During his first season, he led the team to win La Liga trophy, most memorable moment, when defeating long-time rival, Real Madrid 5-0, at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. Many fans will famously remember this season, for Cruyff’s outstanding “Phantom Goal” scored against Atletico Madrid in 1973.
