Zaire Vintage shirt World Cup, 1974, currently known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a.k.a “The Leopards”.
The 1970’s was the greatest period for National football in Zaire. Having won the 1968 African Cup of Nations, 6 years later, Zaire would re-live its glory by winning its second ACN cup 197, on a re-played final game against Zambia, that they would win 2-0. Zambian player Ndaye Mulamba, set a goal scoring record of 9 goals throughout one same Cup.
Later on “The Leopards” would secure their presence in a WC by beating Morocco on its decisive qualifying game.
